Healthy Communities Internship Program (HCIP)

Program Dates: June 21st – July 30th, 2027
Application Deadline: March 31st, 2027

Program Information

– Six-week internship placements in community-based health centers and organizations
– Weekly didactic sessions with health professionals and field trips
– Networking opportunities with 2nd-year medical students and professionals
– Exposure to health careers and community health issues
– Students will report to placement sites Monday through Thursday, and will have didactic sessions with medical students on Fridays.

Resume & Transcript: Current resume and unofficial transcript from your most recently attended college
Recommendations: Two letters — one from a professor and one from an employer, supervisor, or mentor

*Placement will be based on CDC and NYC Dept of Health guidelines.

**To provide a safe educational environment for all of our program participants, MSI AHEC will follow current institutional guidelines. Please note that students participating in MSI AHEC programs may be required to wear a mask in clinical environments and provide proof of vaccination, if requested. These rules will be amended as new guidelines or regulations become effective.
